Today it is that time again. I'm having fun with this meme.
How do you write your reviews? via bluebooksandbutterflies.blogspot.com
Because I'm an author it is a little trickier, I don't want to be too negative, but I also want to be honest. So, I make sure I always write something positive, but if there is a lot of negative I usually just don't review it. Oh and I write them after a few days, I don't write them right after I've finished the book.

I usually take a day or two after reading to write my reviews as well. Thank you for stopping by! :)

Most of the time I tend to write reviews right away, but I won't post them until a few weeks later because I end up changing my mind about stuff.

Sorry, messed up on my link. Here's the right one: The Boundless Book List
ReplyDeleteI normally write up a draft immediately after or soon after, within the week anyway just so themes and other thoughts and characters are fresh in my mind. Whilst I do have a rating of DNF I have never given it, I think maybe I wouldn't bother reviewing it if I couldn't finish it.

I mostly write reviews right away, otherwise I tend to forget all the amazing points I wanted to make! Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

I never really considered how different it would be to write a review from an author's pOV, but you're right it would be! Followed on FB! Thanks for coming by to mine!
ReplyDeleteI usually only review books that I liked. Not because I want to shun other books, but because I generally like almost every book I read. And I don't actually review every book I read (because I'm lazy). So I am all for the positive reviews. In general, I want to read things about books I should read, not about book I shouldn't (a glass half-full kind of review mentality).

Hopping through. I generally don't review books that I didn't like either, but that's mostly because I don't finish them if I don't like them.

I'm such a perfectionist that it takes me a while to think of what to write and then I just hope that I can get it down the way I had it in my head.

I'm like you, I try to be as nice as possible and stay honest. Also I try to write mine within a week of reading, but I'm currently REALLY behind...I have 11 to write right now :(

I write mine a few days later as well. I usually wait a week or so before I find the time to write a review. I don't like to write negative reviews but I will if I didn't like the book. I always try to be respectful though and include whatever positive aspects I can.
